Charles Rizzo, MD, attended Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, IL, and received his medical degree in 1990. Then, he served his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the New York University Medical Center (1990-1995). Furthermore, he conducted his fellowship training in sports medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Rothman Orthopaedics in Philadelphia, PA (1995-1996). During this specialized training, he was an assistant team physician for a number of professional teams, including the Philadelphia Eagles, the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Philadelphia Phillies, as well as numerous college and high school teams. Dr. Rizzo received board certification in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). He remains an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the New Jersey Orthopaedic Society, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
